அனு (Anu) சுமேரியக் கடவுள்களில் தலைமையானவர். இவர் வானம், சொர்க்கம் மற்றும் விண்மீன்களுக்கு அதிபதி ஆவார். அனு தெய்வம் பிற கடவுள்கள், தேவதைகள் மற்றும் அசுர தேவதைகளின் உற்பத்திக்கும் காரணமானவர். எனவே அனைத்து கடவுள்களுக்கும் இவரே தலைமைக் கடவுளர் ஆவார். இவருடன் என்லில் மற்றும் ஈஅ கடவுள்கள் சேர்த்து திருமூர்த்தி தெய்வங்கள் எனப்போற்றப்படுகின்றனர்.
மெசொப்பொத்தேமியாவின் உரூக் நகரத்தில், கிமு 2334 - கிமு 2154 வரையிலான அக்காடியப் பேரரசு ஆட்சியின் போது அனுக் கடவுளின் மனைவியான, சொர்க்கத்தின் இராணியான இஷ்தர் எனும் பெண் கடவுளின் வழிபாடு சிறப்புடன் விளங்கியது.
கிமு மூவாயிரம் ஆண்டின் சுமேரியர்களின் சாத்திரக் குறிப்புகளின் படி, அனு கடவுள் அனைத்து சுமேரியக் கடவுள்களுக்கு தந்தை ஆவார். அனு கடவுளின் மனைவியாக ஊராஸ் தேவதை இருந்தது. [1][2], பிந்தைய சுமேரியக் குறிப்புகளின் படி, அனு கடவுளின் துணைவியாக கீ தேவதையைக் குறிப்பிட்டுள்ளது.[1][2]
