உங்களின் சாலியர் சமூக பக்கத்தில் பிழை
I strongly condemned, your statement as “Tamil Nadu Saliyars are displaced from Kanchipuram. People from Andhra before that. And also their origin is Varanasi known as Kasi. Then they lived in Salianwallapak in Punjab. Later became known as Jallianwala Bagh. The town is still named after the street of the Saliyar. They were displaced in the south during the Islamic invasion”
Please remove above said statement. We are basically TAMILIANS and surname as MOOPANAR and culturally lean with MUDALIYARS.
Saliyar in Tamil Nadu is a caste which belongs to backward community. They are weaving community spread across Tamil Nadu,mostly in Virudhunagar district, Andipatti, Jakkampatti in Theni district and Madurai. It has various sub sects but generally called as Saliyar. There are some sub sects can be found in Kerala. Regarding the language, Saliyar in TN speak Tamil only and they don't know any other local languages.Respectively the Other state people speak only the state language. As the word Saliyar generally mention weaving community, no one knows , are there any connection between different sects than span across South India. I believe most of them are indigenous to their land and no connection between them historically. The British government Simply provided the name Saliyar to the different people who have profession of weaving. Some amateur historians proposed, they are migrated from Andhra from 600–1000 years. But I strongly doubt this proposal ,as most of the migrated people from Andhra still speaking Telugu and their customs are mostly inclined to Telugu culture. Though the name Saliya is ancient Tamil, Saliyar (TN) community only speaking Tamil and largely inclined to Tamil culture. Their beliefs are ancestral worship which is part of Hindu culture.Mostly they connected the ancestral worship with shivaite tradition.
