ஜெர்கோபிலசு தர்சுடோனி (Gerrhopilus thurstoni) அல்லது தர்சுடன் புழுப்பாம்பு என்பது ஜெர்கோபிடே குடும்பத்தைச் சேர்ந்த விசமற்ற குருட்டுப் பாம்பு ஆகும். இந்தச் சிற்றினம் மேற்கு இந்தியாவினைத் தாயகமாகக் கொண்டது. அங்கீகரிக்கப்பட்ட துணையினங்கள் எதுவும் இச்சிற்றினத்தின் கீழ் இல்லை.
சொற்பிறப்பியல்
[தொகு]இங்கிலாந்து விலங்கியல் நிபுணர் எட்கர் தர்சுடனின் நினைவாக தர்சுடோனி என்ற சிற்றினப் பெயர் வைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.[4]
புவியியல் வரம்பு
[தொகு]மேற்கு இந்தியாவில், ஜெ. தர்சுடோனி தெற்கு கோவாவில், கடல் மட்டத்திலிருந்து சுமார் 1,200 மீட்டர் உயரத்திலும் (4,000 அடி) கேரளாவிலும் காணப்படுகிறது. இதனுடைய வட்டார வகை "நீலகிரி மலையாகும்.[5]

[தொகு]ஜெ. தர்சுடோனியின் விருப்பமான இயற்கை வாழிடம் காடு ஆகும்.
விளக்கம்
[தொகு]ஜெ. தர்சுடோனியின் உடல் நீளம் (வால் உட்பட) 30 செ.மீ. வரை வளரலாம். இதன் உடல் வெளிர் பழுப்பு அல்லது மஞ்சள் நிறத்தில் முதுகுப்புறத்திலும் வயிற்றுப்புறம் வெளிர் நிறமாகவும் இருக்கும். மூக்கும் மலக்குடல் பகுதியும் வெண்மையாக உள்ளன.[6]
